Welcome to the True Self-Mastery Podcast. I am Anne Vandywater, and this is a space for conscious self-leadership, following your unique inner authority, and living in alignment with who you truly are. Happy New Year! This is the first True Self-Mastery podcast of 2026, and I am so happy to be here with you. Each episode is an invitation to slow down, listen inwardly, and reconnect with the part of you that already knows, the part of you that senses truth before it makes sense. The part of you that is capable of depth, devotion, and real integrity in how you live, love, and lead. If you're here, you're likely someone who has spent a lot of time figuring things out on your own. You're perceptive, you're intuitive, you're capable, and at the same time, you're likely longing for connection that feels real, not surface level, not performative, but rooted in honesty, emotional safety, and shared values. Today's episode is anchored in a powerful moment. Today is January 3rd, 2026, and it is the first full moon of the year. Happy full moon. It's a cancer full moon, and it's known as the wolf moon. And this year it is also a supermoon. A supermoon occurs when the moon is closer to the earth, amplifying its effects. Emotions feel stronger, sensitivity is heightened, inner truths rise to the surface more quickly. Cancer is ruled by the moon itself. So this is lunar energy amplified even further. This full moon illuminates themes of home, belonging, emotional security, family, ancestry, legacy, and the inner world. It brings attention to where we feel safe and where we don't, where we feel nourished and where we may still be bracing or protecting. Because this is the first full moon of 2026, it sets an emotional tone for the year ahead. It asks a simple but honest question. Where do you feel at home within yourself? And where are you still relying on old survival strategies? This is where the wolf moon becomes such a powerful teacher. In many Native American traditions, the wolf symbolizes instinct, loyalty, intuition, and community. Wolves are highly intelligent and deeply relational. They know how to function independently and they know how to thrive within a pack. But wolves can also become lone wolves. And often becoming a lone wolf starts as a form of self-protection. At times it just feels easier to do everything yourself, to rely only on you, to withdraw rather than risk disappointment, and to carry responsibility alone rather than navigate emotional complexity with others. Many people like you, who are strong, capable, and intuitive, develop this pattern early in life. It works until it doesn't. Because while the lone wolf is resilient, it can also become isolated, overextended, disconnected from nourishment that only comes through relationship. The wolf moon invites us to look honestly at this balance. Where have you chosen independence because it truly supports you? And where has independence become a shield that keeps you from deeper connection? At the same time, the wolf teaches us something equally important about the pack. Belonging doesn't mean losing yourself. Community does not mean self-abandonment. Mutual support only works when you're allowed to show up as your true self. Healthy packs are built on trust, respect, and attunement. Each wolf has a role. Each wolf has autonomy. Each wolf has sovereignty. And each wolf contributes from its natural strengths and zone of genius and self-mastery. This is the lens of true self-mastery. True self-mastery is not about forcing connection or staying isolated out of habit. It's about learning when solitude supports you and when relationship nourishes you. It's about choosing connection that honors who you are, not who you think you need to be. There's a well-known Native American story that speaks directly to this wolf moon. A grandfather is sitting with his grandson, and he tells him that inside every person there is a battle taking place. Inside each of us lives two wolves. One wolf represents fear, anger, resentment, jealousy, scarcity, and emotional reactivity. This wolf lives in survival. It operates from old wounds, protective patterns, and unconscious habits. This is the shadow frequency that lives with in all of us. Not something to judge or eliminate, but something to become aware of. The other wolf represents love, trust, compassion, courage, integrity, and connection. This wolf lives in presence. It operates from clarity, self-worth, and emotional truth. This is the gift frequency that lives within all of us, the part of us that emerges when we are resourced, regulated, and aligned. The grandfather explains that these two walls are constantly in conflict inside of us. They wrestle for influence through our beliefs and thoughts and emotions and relationships and choices. The grandson thinks for a moment and then he asks the question we all ask at some point. Which wolf wins? The grandfather answers simply. This wolf moon, especially as a supermoon, heightens that inner dynamic. Shadow frequencies rise to the surface more easily. Old emotional patterns get louder. Protective instincts activate faster. At the same time, gift frequencies are also more accessible. We can feel deeper compassion, greater emotional honesty, a stronger pull toward connection that is real and nourishing. True self-mastery is not about trying to destroy the shadow wolf. It's about recognizing when it is running the show. Every time you choose awareness instead of reaction, you feed the gift. Every time you choose honesty instead of self-protection, you feed the gift. Every time you choose connection without self-abandonment, you feed the gift. And when the gift is fed consistently, it naturally leads. And the shadow no longer needs to fight for control. And this is how you develop your superpowers. Those parts of you that are beyond your perceived limitations of yourself. This is the more magical and miraculous part of who you are. This is what this wolf moon is illuminating. Not perfection, but conscious choice. Which wolf are your habits feeding? Which wolf are your relationships feeding? Which wolf is being strengthened by how you speak to yourself? This is not about forcing yourself to be better. It's about becoming conscious of what you are cultivating. On the true self-mastery journey, on new and full moons, we return to and we revisit our manifesto, which includes our purpose, our values, our message, our vision. And we ask ourselves: what is still true? What is evolving? What no longer fits? Who we are becoming. This cancer supermoon invites you to redefine what home means to you, not just where you physically live, but how you live inside of yourself. Who you allow close, and whether the way you relate is feeding the wolf of fear or the wolf of trust. Here's a simple wolf moon ritual. Find a quiet space. Light a candle. If you can, sit near a fire or a window where you can see the moon. Let this be simple. Take a piece of paper and write it at the top. Full super wolf moon in cancer reflections. And ask yourself these questions. Where do you default to doing everything on your own? Where do you desire deeper connection or mutual support? Which wolf have your recent choices been feeding? Write honestly. Then write one sentence that begins. This year I choose to feed the wolf of. And then choose a quality that feels genuine and real and true for you. This year I choose to feed the wolf of trust. This year I choose to feed the wolf of belonging. This year I choose to feed the wolf of emotional honesty. This year I choose to feed the wolf of reciprocity. This year I choose to feed the wolf of care. And then read it out loud. If you're with others, share it if it feels aligned. This ritual is especially powerful when done with people you trust and your chosen soul family members. Sit quietly for a few breaths and let it land. And then if you wish, offer it to the fire. Offering what you write to the fire is an act of faith and trust that everything is unfolding in the divine right time and the divine right way. If you're feeling called to deepen this work, this is exactly what we do inside true self-mastery. We work with natural cycles, human design, the gene keys, an authentic alignment with your purpose, values, message, and vision. We focus on creating daily self-love and self-care practices, health and wellness rhythms that raise your vibration and strengthen your self-worth. Practices that support conscious creation of your beautiful vision for your life. From there, we naturally move into luminous leadership, leading by example, embodying the change you want to see and bringing forth your unique gifts and offerings through lived experience and beautiful self-expression. When all of this comes together, it becomes your legacy of light. Living, loving, and leading as your true self, offering your life as your gift, creating positive impact that continues to serve future generations. Your next steps on the journey are simple. This wolf moon reminds us that emotional truth cannot be bypassed, belonging cannot be forced, and strength does not require isolation. Honor what this supermoon is illuminating. Release what no longer protects you, and choose consciously which wolf you are feeding as you move forward. You are guided by your inner authority. You are supported by life, and you're capable of creating a true sense of home within yourself and with others. Until next time, breathe deeply, listen clearly, and keep aligning with your true self. I love you and I support you. Thank you, thank you, thank you. So be it, so it is, it is done. Apra Kadapra,
