In this episode of the True Self Mastery Podcast, I explore what it means to stop outsourcing your power and return to your own inner authority.

Human Design, astrology, the Gene Keys, coaching, therapy, spiritual teachings, and personal development tools can all offer valuable guidance. But none of them are meant to replace your relationship with yourself.

The purpose of these tools is to help you hear your own truth more clearly, not to become another authority outside of you.

In this episode, I share a teaching transmission on personal empowerment, guide you through a meditation to call your power back, and offer journal prompts to help you consciously choose what you want to focus on, strengthen, and create.

You will explore:

Where you may be outsourcing your power

What you may be making more powerful than your own inner knowing

The difference between personal responsibility and self blame

How to interrupt thoughts, stories, fears, and patterns you no longer want to empower

How to use the practice:

Cancel. Clear. Delete. Access denied.

And how to consciously redirect your attention with:

Access granted. Of course. Yes.

You will also be guided to identify one small, wise, aligned action you can take today.

Reflection Prompts

Where am I currently outsourcing my power?

What am I making more powerful than my own inner knowing?

What thought, belief, fear, identity, or pattern am I no longer willing to feed?

What am I choosing to empower instead?

Where is my point of choice right now?

What would taking responsibility look like without blaming or shaming myself?

What is one small, grounded, aligned action I can take today?

Welcome From A Wellness Retreat

SPEAKER_00

Welcome to the True Self Mastery Podcast. I am your hostess, Anne Vandywater, and I'm so happy to be with you here today. I am creating this podcast at Rancho La Puerta in Tacate, Mexico, where I am teaching this week. I've been coming here since I was six years old, and I just feel so blessed to be here on the first land of the Kumiyai people and the presence of this magical place that was started by the Zaike family in 1940. It is the original health and wellness retreat center and resort on our magical planet. And if you'd ever like to join me here, just reach out. All my contact info is in the show notes, and I can get you 20% off of your first visit here, or if you haven't been here in five years, I can get you 20% off as well. So thank you so much for taking this time to pause and breathe, reconnect and come home to yourself.

What Personal Empowerment Really Means

SPEAKER_00

Today's episode is about personal empowerment. It's about no longer outsourcing your power to anything or anyone. It's about taking responsibility for the energy, attention, thoughts, stories, choices, and possibilities that you are strengthening in your life. And it's about remembering that you are the chooser. You are the decider. You are the one who gets to consciously direct your attention toward what you want to nurture, nourish, empower, and create. So today's episode has three parts. First, I will share a teaching transmission about personal empowerment and inner authority. Then I will guide you through a meditation to help you call your power back and consciously redirect your focus. Finally, I will offer you a few reflection and journal prompts that you can write about or simply contemplate within your own consciousness. So take a breath in and take a long sigh out and let yourself arrive. And let's begin.

Using Human Design Without Giving Power Away

SPEAKER_00

Recently, inside the true self-mastery ecosystem community, we've been exploring human design. And human design is something that I teach about. I do true self-mastery readings. It's been a huge part of my journey for 16 years and for my teachings for about the last 10 years. And human design can be a beautiful tool for understanding yourself more deeply. It can help you understand your energy, your patterns, your decision-making process, and the unique way you're designed to move through the world. It can help you love and accept parts of yourself that may have previously felt confusing, wrong, or misunderstood. But human design is a tool. It is not your master. It's not here to become another authority outside of you. The same is true for astrology and the gene keys and for all spiritual teachings, personal development systems, coaches, therapists, teachers, healers, mentors, books, podcasts, and every other resource you may encounter. These things can guide you. They can reflect something back to you. They can help you see yourself more clearly, and they can offer language, perspective, support, and wisdom, but they are not meant to replace your relationship with yourself. They're not meant to become more powerful than your own inner knowing. And of course, neither am I. My role is not to tell you who you are. My role is not to become the voice that you listen to instead of your own. My role is to help you hear yourself more clearly, to help you trust yourself more deeply, and to help you reconnect with the part of you that knows what is true, what is aligned, what is loving, and what your next wise choice is. True self-mastery is not about collecting more information. It's not about finding another system to tell you what to do. It's about embodying the truth that already lives within you. It's about developing such a strong, honest, loving relationship with yourself that you stop giving your authority away. And most of us have been trained to give our authority away. From the time we're very young, we're often taught to look outside of ourselves. We look to our parents, our teachers, our partners. We look to experts and society and to the news. We look to social media, to systems and to structures. We look to see what everyone else thinks we should do. And sometimes we become so accustomed to looking outside of ourselves that we lose touch with our own truth. We begin to believe that someone else knows us better than we know ourselves. We start asking everyone else what we should do before we ever pause and ask ourselves. We abandon our knowing in exchange for approval. We override our truth to avoid disappointing someone. We stay in situations that no longer feel aligned because we're afraid to trust what we know. And sometimes we make our circumstances, our history, our fears, or other people's opinions more powerful than our own capacity to choose.

Responsibility Without Blame Or Shame

SPEAKER_00

This is where personal empowerment begins. Personal empowerment is the willingness to remember that while you may not control everything that happens around you, you do have power in how you meet what happens. You have power in what you focus on. You have power in the meaning you give something. You have power in the story you continue telling. You have power in what you practice, you have power in what you reinforce. You have power in how you respond. You have power in what you choose next. And this is why responsibility can be so liberating. Responsibility does not mean blame. It does not mean that every painful experience is your fault. It doesn't mean denying trauma, grief, injustice, difficulty, or the complexity of being human. Blame says, this is my fault. Responsibility says, given what is here now, how do I choose to respond? Responsibility brings you back into relationship with your own power. It asks, what am I participating in? What am I continuing to feed? What am I rehearsing? What am I giving my energy to? What do I want to strengthen instead? Your attention is one of your most valuable resources. Whatever you repeatedly give your attention to, you energize. Whatever you rehearse, you reinforce. Whatever you continually focus on becomes increasingly powerful within your consciousness. This does not mean that you should deny difficult thoughts or emotions. It does not mean suppressing what is real. And it does not mean pretending that everything is wonderful when it's not. There's a profound difference between fully feeling something and repeatedly feeding it. You can acknowledge fear without building your home inside of it. You can feel sadness without making sadness your identity. You can recognize an old story without continuing to rehearse it as your future. You can honor what has happened while still choosing what happens next. One of the practices I've been sharing is a very simple pattern interruption. When

Cancel Clear Delete As Pattern Break

SPEAKER_00

you notice yourself moving into a thought, belief, story, fear, projection, or focus that you do not want to continue strengthening, you pause and say, cancel, clear, delete, access, denied. These words are not meant to be used against yourself. They're not punishment, they're not rejection, they're not about making a part of you wrong. They are a conscious declaration. They see, they say, I see what my mind is doing. I see the familiar pathway. I see the pattern that is asking for my attention, and I am choosing not to give it any more of my life force. Cancel, clear, delete, access denied. Then you consciously turn what you do want to empower. You may say, access granted, of course, yes. Access granted to peace, access granted to healing, access granted to truth, to love, to self-respect, to wise aligned choices, access granted to the life I am consciously creating. Of course, yes. This does not mean you say the words once and never experience the thought again. The mind will most likely return to the old story. The old fear may arise again, the old pattern may ask to be fed again. And every time it does, you have another opportunity to choose. This is what mastery is. Mastery is not perfection, mastery is practice, it's remembering, it's returning and choosing again, it's shortening the amount of time that you remain lost in a pattern that does not serve you. It's developing the self-awareness to notice when you're handing your power away. And it's developing the self-trust to call it back. You are the chooser of your focus. You are the steward of your attention. You are the guardian of your energy. You're the one who decides what you're willing to feed and what you're no longer available to empower. And every conscious choice becomes a vote for the reality you want to experience. Not because you control every circumstance, but because you're choosing who you will be within your circumstances. That's personal empowerment. That is conscious creation. That is true self-mastery.

Guided Meditation To Call Power Back

SPEAKER_00

Now, if it is safe and comfortable for you to do so, allow your eyes to close or simply soften your gaze. If you're driving or doing something that requires your full attention, continue listening and return to this meditation at another time. Take a slow, gentle breath in and let it go. Take another breath in and slowly breathe out. Allow your shoulders to soften. Relax your jaw. Unclench your hands. Let your belly soften. Feel the support beneath your body. Feel the ground beneath your feet. Allow yourself to arrive in this moment. Not in the past, not in the future. Right here. Right now. Place one hand on your heart. And if it feels comfortable, place the other hand on your belly. Feel your own presence. Feel the warmth of your hands. Feel your breath moving beneath them. And silently or softly say, I am here. I am here with myself. I am willing to come home to myself now. And take another breath in. And a slow breath out. And ask within, where have you been outsourcing your power? Do not force an answer. Do not search for one. Just let the question move through your consciousness. Where have you been outsourcing your power? Perhaps an image arises. Perhaps a person comes to mind. Perhaps you notice a circumstance, a fear, a relationship, a story, an opinion, a system, an old identity, a future possibility. Or perhaps you simply feel something in your body. There's nothing to judge, there's nothing to shame. Awareness is enough. Take another breath in and slowly breathe out. And say, I lovingly acknowledge where I have given my power away. I do not need to make myself wrong. I simply choose to call my power back. And now bring to mind one thought, story, fear, pattern, or focus that you no longer want to energize. Choose something that feels workable today. You don't need to choose the most difficult experience in your life. Just choose one pattern you're ready to interrupt. Notice how it feels in your body. Perhaps there's tightness in your throat or pressure in your chest or heaviness in your belly or tension in your jaw or restlessness in your mind. Simply notice. Take a slow breath in. And as you exhale, say cancel. Breathe in. And exhale and say clear. And breathe in. And exhale and say delete. And breathe in. And exhale and say access denied. Again, breathe in, breathe out and say cancel, clear, delete, access denied. And now say, I no longer give my life force to this story. I no longer give my attention to this fear. I no longer consent to abandoning myself inside this pattern. I lovingly release my attachment to what I do not want to continue creating. Take a full breath in and breathe out through your mouth. And imagine that you're gently disconnecting your energy from this old focus. No force, no battle, no rejection. Imagine you're pulling a plug out of the wall. With clarity, with love, a clear choice. And now ask yourself, what do I choose to empower instead? Let a word or image or feeling or possibility arise. Perhaps it's peace or trust or truth or love or health or courage. Freedom, clarity, vitality, creativity, self-respect. Perhaps it's a loving relationship or meaningful work or a regulated nervous system, a wise decision or a life that reflects who you truly are. Let yourself feel the energy of what you are consciously choosing. Not only as an idea, but as a lived possibility, as a direction, as a focus, as a devotion, as a commitment, as a yes. Take a breath in. And as you exhale, say access granted. And breathe in again. Say, of course. Yes. Access granted. To truth. Access granted. Of course. Yes. To love. Access granted. Of course, yes. To my inner authority. Access granted. Of course, yes. To wise aligned choices. Access granted. Of course, yes. To the reality I choose to nurture and nourish and empower. Feel this choice in your body. Allow your posture to reflect your yes. Allow your breath to reflect your yes. And allow your heart to reflect your yes. And now repeat, I call my power back from every place I have scattered it. I call my power back from fear. I call my power back from self-doubt. I call my power back from the past. I call my power back from the future. I call my power back from other people's opinions. I call my power back from every system, person, circumstance, and story I have made more powerful than my own truth. I return my power to my body. I return my power to my mind. I return my power to my heart. I return my power to my choices. I return my power to the present moment. I return my power to love. I return my power to truth. I return my power to conscious creation. And now take a slow, full breath in and exhale. And again, breathe in. Breathe out. And feel the ground beneath you. Feel the Support around you. Feel yourself here, present, whole, aware, empowered. And silently or out loud say, I am the chooser of my focus. I am the guardian of my energy. I am the steward of my attention. I trust myself to make one wise aligned choice at a time. Take one final breath in, a slow breath out, and when you're ready, gently open your eyes. Now

Journal Prompts For Inner Authority

SPEAKER_00

I'm going to offer you several questions to contemplate. You may pause the podcast and write your responses in the journal, or you may simply allow each question to move through your consciousness. There's no need to force an answer. Just simply listen for what is true. The first question is: where are you currently outsourcing your power? Where are you asking another person, a system, a circumstance, or an old story to determine how you now feel, what you now believe, and what you now choose? The second question is, what are you making more powerful than your own inner knowing? The third question is, what thought, belief, fear, identity, or pattern are you no longer willing to feed with your attention? The fourth question is, what are you choosing to empower instead? What quality, possibility, relationship, practice, or reality deserves more of your energy? The fifth question is, where is your point of choice right now? Even if you cannot control the entire situation, what can you consciously choose? The sixth question is, what would taking responsibility look like without blaming or shaming yourself? And finally, what is one small, grounded, aligned action you can take today that reflects the reality you want to create? Let that action be simple. It might be making a phone call, having an honest conversation, setting a boundary, taking a walk, resting, beginning that project you've been wanting to create, turning off the news, stopping the obsessive checking, writing the page, drinking the water, asking for support, listening inwardly before asking someone else what you should do. One aligned action, one conscious choice, one way of telling yourself, I am no longer abandoning you. I am listening. I am here, and I am willing to move with you. Thank you for joining me for this practice and this podcast today. I invite you to return to these words whenever you notice yourself spiraling, giving your authority away, or placing your attention on what you do not want to strengthen. Pause, breathe, and remember to say cancel, clear, delete, access denied. Then ask, what do I choose to empower instead? And respond, access granted. Of course. Yes. If you
